Border City Mills of Fall River. The company was organized in 1872 with the first mill (mill #1) being built in 1873. That mill was destroyed by fire in 1877. Bankruptcy followed in 1878 and the company was reorganized. Eventually, 3 more mills where built (new mill#1, mill #2 and mill #3) in the same area of Fall River. All the surviving mills have been added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. You can even live there if you'd like.
