J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company. Famous gun maker from Chicopee. Formed in 1864 as "J. Stevens and Company". Renamed in 1886. In addition to guns, they also produced machine tools and even early automobiles under contract from Frank Duryea, founder of "Duryea Motor Wagon Company". Mr Stevens later went into business with Mr. Duryea and together that launched the Stevens-Duryea Company.
